Abstract:
A hair ring includes an arcuate body having a plurality of bendable
sections and a plurality of spaced sections. Each bendable portion is
intermediate two of the spaced sections adjacent to each other and has a
thickness smaller than that of the spaced sections. The body further
includes two ends each having a string coupling portion. A string is
coupled to the string coupling portions. When the hair ring is worn on a
head of a user, the body is bendable at the bendable portions according
to an outline of the head of the user, and the string holds the hair at a
rear of the head of the user.Claims:
1. A hair ring comprising:an arcuate body including a plurality of
bendable sections and a plurality of spaced sections, with each of the
plurality of bendable portions intermediate two of the plurality of
spaced sections adjacent to each other and having a thickness smaller
than that of the spaced sections, with the body further including two
ends each having a string coupling portion; anda string coupled to the
string coupling portions, wherein when the hair ring is worn on a head of
a user, the body is bendable at the plurality of bendable portions
according to an outline of the head of the user, with the string holding
hair at a rear of the head of the user.
2. The hair ring as claimed in claim 1, with each of the plurality of spaced sections including an ornament coupling portion, and with an ornament fixed on the ornament coupling portion.
3. The hair ring as claimed in claim 2, with the ornament coupling portion being a groove, and with the ornament received in the groove.
4. The hair ring as claimed in claim 1, with the string being stretchable.
Description:
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001]1. Field of the Invention
[0002]The present invention relates to a hair ring and, more particularly, to a hair ring providing improved wearing comfort, improved wearing stability, and wider applications.
[0003]2. Description of the Related Art
[0004]FIG. 5 shows a conventional hair ring made of plastic material and heated and bent to form an arcuate shape. The hair ring includes an arcuate body 1' having two clamping portions 11' and 12' at two ends thereof. The arcuate body 1' further includes a plurality of teeth 13' on an inner face thereof. A plurality of ornaments 14' are bonded to an outer face of the arcuate body 1' to provide an aesthetically pleasing effect. When a user wears the hair ring, the clamping portions 11' and 12' clamp two sides of the head of the user with the inner face of the arcuate body 1' pressing against the hair of the user and with the teeth 13' extending through the hair of the user.
[0005]However, the curvature of the arcuate body 1' can not suit various outlines of the heads of different users, such that the clamping portions 11' and 12' are either too tight or too loose for the user, leading to limited applications as well as uncomfortable feeling. Furthermore, the clamping portions 11' and 12' are pulled away from each other and then released when wearing the hair ring. The bonding areas between the ornaments 14' and the arcuate body 1' are liable to deform and, thus, cause falling of the ornaments 14'.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006]The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hair ring providing improved wearing comfort, improved wearing stability, and wider applications.
[0007]Another objective of the present invention is to provide a hair ring with enhanced bonding effect between a body and a plurality of ornaments.
[0008]A hair ring according to the preferred teachings of the present invention includes an arcuate body having a plurality of bendable sections and a plurality of spaced sections. Each bendable portion is intermediate two of the spaced sections adjacent to each other and has a thickness smaller than that of the spaced sections. The body further includes two ends each having a string coupling portion. A string is coupled to the string coupling portions. When the hair ring is worn on a head of a user, the body is bendable at the bendable portions according to an outline of the head of the user, and the string holds the hair at a rear of the head of the user.
[0009]The present invention will become clearer in light of the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of this invention described in connection with the drawings.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0010]FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a hair ring according to the preferred teachings of the present invention with a string detached from a body of the hair ring.
[0011]FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the hair ring of FIG. 1.
[0012]FIG. 3 shows a partial, cross sectional view of the hair ring of FIG. 1.
[0013]FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of the hair ring of FIG. 1 worn on a head of a user.
[0014]FIG. 5 shows a perspective view of a conventional hair ring.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015]A hair ring according to the preferred teachings of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 1-4 of the drawings and generally includes a body 1 and a string 2. The body 1 is arcuate and made of plastic material. The body 1 includes a plurality of spaced sections 12 and a plurality of bendable portions 11 each having a thickness smaller than that of the spaced sections 12. Each bendable portion 11 is intermediate two spaced sections 12 adjacent to each other. Each spaced section 12 includes an ornament coupling portion 13 in the most preferred form shown as a groove into which an ornament 14 is fixed by bonding. The body 1 further includes a plurality of teeth 15 on an underside thereof. The body 1 further includes two ends each having a string coupling portion 16 in the most preferred form shown as a hole. The string 2 is stretchable and engaged with the string coupling portions 16.
[0016]In use, the body 1 is placed on top of the head of a user, and the string 2 holds the hair at a rear of the head of the user. The body 1 and the string 2 together form a ring-like structure securely retained on the hair of the user. The stretchable string 2 provides improved wearing stability. Furthermore, the bendable portions 11 can bend according to the outline of the head of the user, so that the body 1 can be in intimate contact with the head of the user, providing improved wearing comfort. Furthermore, the teeth 15 extend through the hair of the user. Since the body 1 only bends at the bendable portions 11, the spaced sections 12 with a thicker thickness will not bend. The engaging effect between the ornaments 14 and the ornament coupling portions 13 is not adversely affected. Thus, the hair ring according to the preferred teachings of the present invention provides improved wearing comfort, improved wearing stability, and wider applications.
[0017]The ornaments 14 can be fixed to the body 1 by fasteners, coupling, or other measures. Furthermore, the body 1 does not have to include the ornaments 14 and the teeth 15. Furthermore, the string 2 does not have to be stretchable. The string 2 can be tied to the string coupling portions 16.
[0018]Thus since the invention disclosed herein may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or general characteristics thereof, some of which forms have been indicated, the embodiments described herein are to be considered in all respects illustrative and not restrictive. The scope of the invention is to be indicated by the appended claims, rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are intended to be embraced therein.
