Description:
[0001] A: Document number: U.S. Pat. No. 2,608,296
[0002] Ring Box
[0003] This particular patent is unlike the Jewelry Boat because it solely holds a ring while the Jewelry Boat holds numerous items not limited to rings. It has no method of attaching to a surface as the Jewelry Boat states in claims 1-3. The ring box is also made out of soluble material. This contradicts the purpose of which the Jewelry Boat is used (i.e: sink areas in bathrooms and kitchens).

[0005] Ring Box
[0006] This particular patent is unlike the Jewelry Boat because it solely holds a ring while the Jewelry Boat holds numerous items not limited to rings. It has no method of attaching to a surface as the Jewelry Boat states in claims 1-3. This ring holder also contains a top which the Jewelry Boat does not have. The transparent top on the Ring Box implies that it is to showcase a ring and not to be a functional jewelry holder as does the Jewelry Boat.

[0008] Method and Article for Storing, Transporting, and Displaying Articles
[0009] This particular patent is unlike the Jewelry Boat because it is for the purpose of storing, transporting, and displaying articles. The Jewelry Boat is to temporarily hold jewelry near areas of water to prevent jewelry from becoming wet or slipping down sink or bathtub drains. This patent has no method of attaching to a surface as the Jewelry Boat states in claims 1-3. Unlike the Jewelry Boat, this item has stacked trays. The Jewelry Boat contains no trays and is uncovered.

[0011] Presentation Stand Intended for Watches
[0012] This particular patent is unlike the Jewelry Boat because it solely holds a watch while the Jewelry Boat holds numerous items not limited to watches. It has no method of attaching to a surface as the Jewelry Boat states in claims 1-3. Presentation Stand Intended for Watches implies that it is to showcase a watch and not to be a functional jewelry holder as does the Jewelry Boat.

[0014] Jewelry Box with a Linking Assembly Which Permits Hanging of Jewelry Thereon
[0015] This particular patent is unlike the Jewelry Boat because it has no method of attaching to a surface as the Jewelry Boat states in claims 1-3. The Jewelry Box with a Linking Assembly Which Permits Hanging of Jewelry Thereon has a top with hinges while the Jewelry Boat is uncovered and is not intended for hanging jewelry but rather for holding jewelry.

[0017] Jewelry Holder
[0018] Although the Jewelry Boat is related to the Jewelry Holder, it claims priority to this prior invention because the Jewelry holder is incapable of holding all types of jewelry as it claims. The Jewelry Boat can hold unlimited types of jewelry including earring studs, cufflinks, unfastened and fastened necklaces, unfastened and fastened bracelets, unfastened and fastened watches, unfastened and fastened anklets, hair pins, and barrettes. The Jewelry Holder is absent of sides to secure jewelry and protect it from slipping out whereas the Jewelry Boat is complete with four secure sides and the ability to attach to a surface to prevent movement. The Jewelry Holder is almost solely functional for rings. The design of the Jewelry Holder is completely different than that of the Jewelry Boat as the Jewelry Boat is a type of case.
[0019] ARTICLE FOR HOUSEHOLD USE
TECHNICAL FILED OF THE INVENTION
[0020] The present invention relates to an article for household use and more specifically for the protection of jewelry near sink areas.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0021] In keeping with the safety of jewelry that is removed to bathe, wash hands or cook, it is important to protect jewelry that is removed near sink areas and is in danger of going down a sink drain. An effective means of protecting jewelry that finds itself near a sink is to provide a stationary item that can hold jewelry safely on a sink area. This allows someone to remove their jewelry for everyday purposes and activates such as bathing, washing hands and cooking without the worry of losing valuable and sentimental jewelry that must be removed to complete these acts. For further protection against jewelry damage, jewelry must be lodged between a soft cushion or laid flat on a soft cushion-like fabric. This protects the jewelry from scratches or other damage. It is desirable to have an item that is stationary on sink areas as well as gentle to delicate jewelry.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0022] It is the objective of the invention to provide a stationary item that will protect jewelry that is near sink areas. It is a further objective of the invention to provide an item that will guard against wear and tear of jewelry. It is also an objective of the above household article to provide an attractive item that is available in a variety of materials, colors, shapes and styles. In the present invention, materials such as, but not limited to, ceramic, marble, soapstone, stainless steel, aluminum, plastic, paper, glass, wood, copper, granite, and the like will be made in all and any color or color variety as well as pattern or print. Further in the present invention, all shapes including, but limited to, rectangular, square, octagon, triangle, circular and the like will come in all and any color or color variety as well as pattern or print. In the present invention the underside of the jewelry holder is equip with any number of suction cup fasteners to attach it to sink areas, counters and other smooth surfaces. The stationary fasteners entail suction cups, but may also include other stationary fasteners such as Velcro, magnet, glue and the like.
BRIEF DISCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0023] FIG. -4 is an illustration of a stationary item to hold jewelry that is near sink areas in both bathrooms and kitchens to prevent jewelry from going down the sink drain.
DETAILED DISCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0024] While the specifications concludes with claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which is regarded as the present invention, the invention will now be described with reference to the following descriptions of embodiments taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
[0025] In a preferred embodiment of the invention this jewelry holding household item designed for sink areas uses suction cups to attach to sink surfaces making the item stationary. Referring to FIG. 1-4 therein is illustrated a stationary item for holding jewelry according to preferred embodiment of the invention. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 promote and explain all features of the stationary jewelry holder. Each part is described in FIG. 1-4. Part 1 illustrates the entire stationary jewelry holder with the purpose to hold jewelry safely on sink areas. Part 2 illustrates the cushion lumps used to hold rings, earrings and the like. Part 2 consists of velvet, velour and the like. Part 3 illustrates the material of the stationary jewelry holder that can be made in the materials listed under THE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION. Part 4 illustrates the inside half of the stationary jewelry holder that is covered in a layer of cushion fabric made from velvet, velour and the like for jewelry that must be laid flat such as necklaces, bracelets, watches, anklets and the like. Part 5 illustrates the specific stationary tool for the jewelry holder which is the suction cups or other fastening devices included in THE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION attached to the bottom of the item.
[0026] Although the invention has been described in the context of use on sink areas, the stationary jewelry holder is also useful on a variety of surfaces including but not limited to glass, wood, ceramic, marble, tile, plastic, steel and other smooth surfaces. For example, surfaces such as counters, nightstands, desks and other smooth exteriors are relevant to the stationary jewelry holder. The invention can also be used for other objects and knickknacks that need a safe stationary holder. Although simulated designs for the invention have been illustrated as applied to various materials, it is also possible to apply these materials to different shapes as mentioned in It should be apparent from the foregoing specification that the invention is susceptible of being modified with various alterations and modifications which may differ. Form those which have been described in the preceding specification and description. Accordingly, the following claims are intended to cover all alterations and modifications which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
