DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0036] Please refer to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. In the first embodiment of the present invention, the safe packaging container of the present invention comprises a flat body 1, a membrane 2, an engagement protrusion 3 and an engagement slot 4. A plurality of carrier units 5 are provided on the flat body 1 to carry items, such as cookies, candies, snacks, batteries, pills, etc. A folding line 6 is provided on the flat body 1 to allow the flat body 1 to be folded. The membrane 2 is attached to the surface of the flat body 1 to seal the items carried in the carrier units 5. The engagement protrusion 3 is provided on one end of the flat body 1. Another folding line 6 is provided between the engagement protrusion 3 and the flat body 1. When the flat body 1 is folded along the folding line 6, the engagement protrusion 3 may engage with the engagement slot 4. In addition, to secure such engagement, the thickness of the engagement protrusion 3 is greater than that of the flat body 1.
[0037] Prints, such as directions for product or safety, brand description, ads, etc., may be provided on the surface of the membrane 2. Such prints may first be printed on the surface of the membrane 2 and then the membrane 2 is attached to the surface of the flat body 1. Alternatively, the membrane 2 is first attached to the surface of the flat body 1 and the prints are provided on the surface of the membrane 2.
[0038] On the other side of the folding line 6, an opposite surface 7 may be formed. Prints, such as directions for product or safety, brand description, ads, etc., may be provided on the opposite surface 7. The prints may be provided on the opposite surface 7 as the flat body 1 is formed. Alternatively, the prints may be provided on the opposite surface 7 after the flat body 1 is formed.
[0039] Another embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. In this embodiment, the carrier units 5 cover all the surface of the flat body 1. Because the entity of the surface of the flat body 1 is flat, the flat body 1 may be folded without any problem. For the sake of appearance, the carrier units 5 may have a thickness identical to that of the flat body 1 so that the carrier units 5 would not stick out of the flat body 1.
[0040] Please refer to FIG. 3. Safety points 11 are provided on a corner of the flat body 1 after the flat body 1 is sealed to prevent tampering of the items carried in the carrier units 5. The safety points 11 may be formed by heat or glue. Once the packaging container is opened, the safety points 11 will be broken and will not be able to return to their original condition. Therefore, the safety points 11 may curb such tampering. Thanks to the engagement between the engagement protrusion 3 and the engagement slot 4, after a user take out one or more items from the packaging container, he may close the packaging container so that the rest of the items may be used in the future.
[0041] In another embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in FIG. 6, prints are provided on the outwards-facing side of the opposite surface 7 so that the prints are visible from the outside after the flat body 1 is folded because the flat body 1 is transparent. Alternatively, prints are provided on the inwards-facing side of the opposite surface 7 so that the prints are visible from the outside after the flat body 1 is folded because the flat body 1 is transparent.
[0042] As illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8, one hole 12 is provided by the engagement protrusion 3 and another hole 12 is provided by the engagement slot 4 on the flat body 1. After the flat body 1 is folded, a single hanging hole is formed to allow the packaging container to be hung.
[0043] In the aforementioned embodiments, the flat body 1 is integrally formed; however, such flat body 1 has disadvantages. Alternatively, in another embodiment, as illustrated in FIG. 9, the two portions 1a and 1b on the two sides of the folding line 6 are first made of different materials and then are connected together. In this manner, these two portions 1a and 1b may be manufactured separately.
[0044] In FIG. 10, an additional leaf 8 may be provided by attachment to the folding line 6 so that prints, such as directions for product or safety, brand description, ads, etc., may be provided on it. The additional leaf 8 may be folded.
[0045] In another embodiment, as illustrated in FIG. 11, one or more extended portions 9, which are connected to the flat body, may be provided. Similarly, a folding line 6 is provided between each extended portion 9 and the flat body 1. Each extended portion 9 may be folded along the folding line 6.
[0046] In another embodiment, as illustrated in FIGS. 12 and 13, an additional rail portion 10 is provided on either longitudinal side of the flat body 1. Such pair of rail portions 10 with different height allows the carrier units 5 to hold items of different size.
[0047] Furthermore, the flat body 1 may have two or more folding lines. As illustrated in FIGS. 14, 15 and 16, the flat body 1 has three portions and two folding lines 6. Therefore, regardless of the number of portions, the packaging container of the present invention may be closed via the engagement of the engagement protrusion 3 and the engagement slot 4 and any packaging container with two or more portions that may be closed through such engagement should be within the scope of the present invention.
[0048] In another embodiment, as illustrated in FIGS. 17, 18 and 19, an additional slot 13 with a width substantially equal to the thickness of the flat body 1 is provided near the proximal end of the flat body 1 to allow the distal end of the flat body 1 to go through.
[0049] Many changes and modifications in the above described embodiments of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.
