20090014468 | FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD - A fluid delivery system is operative to deliver a high viscosity and/or a highly abrasive fluid at a preselected pressure. The system does not incorporate any pressure regulator disposed in contact with the pressurized fluid. The system includes a fluid supply which retains and dispenses a fluid, a source of compressed gas, a fluid delivery line, and a ratio pump which is in fluid communication with the fluid supply, the source of compressed gas and the fluid delivery line. The ratio pump is operable, when energized by a compressed gas, to pump fluid from the fluid supply through the fluid delivery line at a high pressure which is proportional to the pressure of the compressed gas supplied to the pump. The system includes a pressure transducer disposed so as to sense the pressure of the fluid in the fluid delivery line and supply a control signal corresponding to that measured pressure. The control signal is supplied to a load controller which in turn regulates the source of compressed gas in response to the measured pressure in the fluid delivery line so that the pressure of the compressed gas delivered from the source is proportional to the pressure of the fluid in the fluid delivery line. In this manner, a feedback loop is established which maintains the pressure of the fluid in the fluid delivery line at a preselected level. Also disclosed are methods for the use of the system. | 01-15-2009 |
20100025428 | APPARATUS FOR DISPENSING MEASURED QUANTITIES OF LIQUID - A liquid dispensing apparatus is provided which has a syringe for storing and dispensing a liquid, and a connector passage connected to the syringe. A positive pressure passage is connected to an air source for supplying positive pressure to the syringe, and there is a pressure valve located along the positive pressure passage that is operative to control the flow of air along the positive pressure passage. A vacuum passage is connected to a vacuum generator for supplying vacuum pressure to the syringe, and there is a vacuum valve located along the said vacuum passage that is operative to control the flow of air along the vacuum passage. The positive pressure passage and vacuum passage are connected to the connector passage. A pressure sensor is also provided to measure the pressure in the connector passage. | 02-04-2010 |
20100237097 | POSITIVE AIR SHUT OFF DEVICE FOR BAG-IN-BOX PUMP - The present invention provides a device for turning off a pump. In operation, when the device is activated there is vacuum pressure in a syrup chamber. A diaphragm acting in response to the vacuum causes a piston assembly in the syrup chamber to move in the one direction (e.g. right), thus compressing a W-shaped spring in the air chamber. As the piston assembly moves, a spring holder of the W-shaped spring also moves to the one direction. As the W-shaped spring is compressed over and passed the most compressed position, the W-shaped spring moves a valve assembly in the air chamber to an opposite direction (e.g. left) and blocks a hole in a spool that otherwise allows air to pass through the air chamber to activate the pump. When the air is stopped, this turns off the pump. | 09-23-2010 |
20110049182 | DISPENSING APPARATUS - An apparatus for dispensing a beverage may include separate pressure regulators to independently control pressure at a beverage source and also at a beverage pump. The pump may function to drive/draw a beverage (such as a beer) from a source to a dispensing station. In operation, the apparatus may be configured to transmit a pressurized gas from a source through one regulator and then to the beverage source, with the regulator functioning to control the pressure at the beverage source. The apparatus may also be configured to transmit gas from the source, through the other regulator, and then to the pump, with that other regulator functioning to maintain pressure in the system as the beverage travels from the pump to the dispensing station. This dual pressure control allows a user to maintain a beverage at a consistent pressure when traveling from the beverage source to a dispensing station. | 03-03-2011 |
20110163122 | WATER SPOUTING DEVICE - In a second tank unit, a controller controls the on/off switching of a water supply solenoid valve so that water is stored in a sub tank within the level of Lu to Ll. At the same time, the controller controls the on/off switching of a pressurizing solenoid valve and a decompressing solenoid valve so that the air pressure in the upper space in the sub tank is maintained at a target value. As a result, regardless of the water level in the sub tank, the back pressure in the tank is maintained at the target value higher than atmospheric pressure. In this state, when a central controller turns on a water spouting solenoid valve, pressured water rapidly spouts from a nozzle. Moreover, a change in the target values of the back pressure promptly changes the height of the spouting water. Accordingly, water spouting can be promptly started/stopped, and the height or size of the spouting water can be readily and smoothly changed. | 07-07-2011 |
20110180565 | Method and Apparatus for Dispensing Product - A portable carbonated liquid dispensing system, with an adjustable, internal pressure regulating system. The complexity of the dispensing system is adaptable. In its simplest form, the system accepts a single user entered pressure setting, and utilizes system feedback to maintain pressure within a predetermined range of the selected setting. In its most complete form, pressure, flow rate and temperature feedback and control systems allow fluid to be dispensed under conditions selected via user input data regarding the type of liquid being dispensed, taking into consideration optimal pressure, flow rate and temperature relationships as determined by the manufacturer of the fluid. | 07-28-2011 |
20120234859 | TRACKING AND CONTROLLING FLUID DELIVERY FROM CHAMBER - Electrochemical impedance may be used for accurate and real-time tracking and control of fluid delivery from fluid-filled chambers, such as from drug delivery devices. At least two measurement electrodes may be placed within the chamber in contact with the fluid to be sensed. Application of a small alternating current using these electrodes through the fluid/drug may allow measurement of electrochemical impedance. Volumetric changes of the compressible chamber due to movement of at least one surface within the compressible chamber (such as an actuating bellows or flexible diaphragm), may induce changes in the measured electrochemical impedance. Measuring these changes may allow for tracking of ejected liquid volumes from the compressible chamber. By taking the time-derivative of this signal, the rate of volume change can be tracked and therefore the rate of ejected fluid (flow rate) can be deduced. | 09-20-2012 |
20130327787 | DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING OR RECEIVING A LIQUID VOLUME - A device for dispensing or receiving a liquid volume comprises a liquid reservoir having an outlet, a pressure generation means which is implemented to provide a compressible enclosed gas volume of a constant amount of substance with a pressure, wherein the gas volume is in direct or indirect fluidic contact with the liquid in the liquid reservoir, a dosing means coupled to the outlet of the liquid reservoir and operable in order to enable the liquid to pass the outlet, a pressure sensor for measuring a current pressure in the gas volume and for outputting an output signal indicating the current pressure in the gas volume and a controller coupled to the pressure generation means, the dosing means and the pressure sensor. The controller is implemented to control the pressure generation means in order to change the pressure in the gas volume until the output signal of the pressure sensor indicates a first pressure, while the dosing means is not operated so that it prevents liquid from passing the outlet in order to operate the dosing means, depending on the output signal of the pressure sensor, to dispense or receive liquid through the outlet and, during dispensing or receiving liquid through the outlet, to monitor the output signal of the pressure sensor and, depending on the monitored output signal of the pressure sensor, terminate or repeat the operation of the dosing means. | 12-12-2013 |
