20120009176 | BIOCIDAL COMPOSITION OF 2,6-DIMETHYL-M-DIOXANE-4-OL ACETATE AND METHODS OF USE - Provided are biocidal compositions comprising 2,6-dimethyl-m-dioxane-4-ol acetate and a non-formaldehyde releasing biocidal compound selected from the group consisting of: a brominated nitroalkanol, a 2-halo-2-(halomethyl)glutaronitrile, and 2-phenoxyethanol. The compositions are useful for controlling microorganisms in aqueous or water containing systems. | 01-12-2012 |
20120114632 | STABILIZED ACTIVE HALOGEN SOLUTIONS - Disclosed are compositions for stabilizing a source of active halogen in aqueous solution. The compositions comprise (i) at least one substituted N-hydrogen compound, such as 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, and (ii) at least one additional nitrogen compound selected from ammonia, ammonium salts, and nitrogen compounds containing no carbon-hydrogen bonds, the molar ratio of (i) and (ii) being in the range of 50:1 to 0.02:1. Active halogen-containing aqueous solutions stabilized by the above compositions are particularly useful for controlling microbial and planktonic growth in aqueous systems such as process liquids in the pulping or papermaking industry. The compositions are also useful in reducing the corrosivity of halogen-containing solutions. | 05-10-2012 |
20140178359 | Chlorine Dioxide Based Cleanser/Sanitizer - This invention relates to an improved chlorine dioxide solution or liquid mixture containing a phosphate and, as well, as to a composition for forming the chlorine dioxide and phosphate liquid mixture. This improved chlorine dioxide solution is used to clean and/or sanitize without causing corrosion. The corrosion nature of the chlorine dioxide solution is lessened due to the addition of phosphate to the composition. | 06-26-2014 |
20140219994 | MOLYBDATE-FREE STERILIZING AND PASTEURIZING SOLUTIONS - The present invention concerns a composition and method of using non-molybdate corrosion inhibitors in sterilizing and pasteurizing applications. The composition is a blend of one or more components including corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, hydrotropes, polymer dispersants, pH adjusting agents and water. The composition may include two or more of a) alkyl-dicarboxylic acid; b) phosphono-carboxylic acid; c) tri(amino-carboxylic acid); d) anionic polymer dispersant; e) non-ionic surfactant; f) inorganic phosphate; g) phosphonotricarboxylic acid; and h) hydrotrope. Specifically, the composition may comprise sebacic acid, hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid, and 6,6′,6″-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyltriimino)tris-hexanoic acid. Optionally, the composition can further comprise a co-polymer of acrylic acid and allyl-2-hydroxy-propyl-sulfonate ether (AA/AHPSE), 2-phosphono-1,2,4-butane-tricarboxylic acid, sodium phosphate monobasic or phosphoric acid, α-decyl-ω-hydroxy-poly(oxy-1,2ethanediyl), and sodium cumenesulfonate. These components are not necessary, and in some embodiments, the composition is utilized without these components. The disclosed composition exhibits comparable or better corrosion protection performance than conventional molybdate containing sterilizing products. | 08-07-2014 |
20140314738 | DISINFECTING COMPOSITION - A disinfecting composition comprises chitosan and peroxycarboxylic acid. The weight ratio of chitosan to peroxycarboxylic acid is from 0.01-100. Chitosan is selected from the group consisting of amino monosaccharide, acetylamino monosaccharide, chitooligosaccharide, chitosan polymer and the combination thereof, and peroxycarboxylic acid is a C1-C18 aliphatic peroxycarboxylic acid that is selected from the group consisting of peroxy monocarboxylic acid, peroxy dicarboxylic acid and the combination thereof. | 10-23-2014 |
