The acidic solution is then exposed to extraction material of non-cross-linked polyamine composite resin. The bound metal, following washing of the extraction material is eluted from the resin using stronger acidic processes than that provided in the wash of the resin. Conventional extraction by organic solvents or other known techniques is employed to recover the PGMRA metals. Rhodium is separated from the rest of the PGMRA metals either near the beginning or the end of the process. Rhodium is separated by creating hydroxides with the metals in the solution and then reacidifying the metals such that the rhodium remains as aquochlororhodate complexes. Using the binding process to the extraction material leaves only the aquochlororhodate complexes in solution to be recovered. All of the PGMRA metals may be recovered by conventional means such as organic solvents, reduction or precipitation. | 2009-06-25 |

A personal watercraft having left and right storage compartments and a rear channel defined therebetween, in which the rear platform extends laterally above the rear channel when in the lowered position is also disclosed. A personal watercraft with a rear platform having heel rests with angled portions is also disclosed. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158983 | Yacht and Ballast Assembly Therefor - A yacht having an adjustable ballast assembly comprising a ballast, an elongated hollow ballast guide mounted to the hull of the watercraft to extend transversely of the hull, the ballast being located within the guide and there being means for selectively moving the ballast longitudinally of the guide between respective opposite end positions in which at least part of the ballast is located laterally outwardly of the hull. The elongated guide may be located within an outer hollow guide and mounted for longitudinal movement relative to the outer guide so as to be capable of projecting telescopically from opposite ends of the outer guide. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158984 | PREPREG COMPOSITE MATERIAL DISCONTINUOUS AND CONTINUOUS SAILBOAT RIGGING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE - The invention is a sailboat rigging system and method for forming same. It is formed from a plurality of resin prepreg high strength fiber strands, tows or roving. The fiber are laid out in a preferred rigging configuration with the fiber strands, tows or roving being placed under generally equal tension. The resin in the prepreg fibers bonds the fiber strands, tows or roving to consolidate them together substantially without open spaces therebetween. If desired, the fiber strands, tows or roving can be branched out at branching points to provide for continuous rigging, and selective fibers can be dropped at various sections of the rigging for weight savings. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158985 | DISCONNECTABLE MOORING SYSTEM - A disconnectable mooring system is provided, comprising a vessel with an outrigger supporting a riser assembly in a disconnectable manner, which riser assembly is provided with a riser top body which by means of disconnectable latching means is attached to the outrigger. The riser top body additionally is connected to the outrigger by means of a braking device for temporarily controlling the downward speed of the riser top body after disconnecting a mechanism. The braking device comprises a first end permanently connected to one of the riser top body and outrigger, and a second end releasably connected to the other of the riser top body and outrigger. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158986 | Deep Draft Semi-Submersible LNG Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessel - The present disclosure provides a method, apparatus, and system of a deep-draft semi-submersible liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating production and storage vessel that can include a pontoon containing LNG tanks, fixed ballast at the bottom in a double-bottom portion, and segregated ballasted tanks with variable ballast located generally above the fixed ballast portion that can assist in keeping the pontoon submerged during various storage levels. Multiple vertical columnar supports can penetrate the pontoon from top to bottom and extend above the water surface to support a deck, including various topside structures. An intermediate double-deck on the top of the pontoon can provide access to the tanks, for example, through the vertical columnar supports. The double bottom structure, deck, and vertical columnar supports can provide overall structural integrity. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158987 | SPAR WITH DETACHABLE HULL STRUCTURE - A spar-type offshore platform includes a buoyant upper hull structure having a lower end to which is detachably connected a buoyant lower module. A plurality of mooring line assemblies is connected to the lower module, the total weight of the mooring line assemblies being sufficient to sink the lower module. A method of separating the upper hull structure from the lower module includes disconnecting the lower module from the lower end of the upper hull structure, and then allowing the weight of the mooring line assemblies to sink the lower module. | 2009-06-25 |
20090158988 | Truss Semi-Submersible Offshore Floating Structure - A semi-submersible structure. The hull includes four columns that are supported by two pontoons. The columns support the topsides and the topsides structural framing serves as horizontal framing between the columns. A truss frame is attached to the columns. The truss frame preferably includes heave plates. The truss frame extends downward below the pontoons a sufficient distance in the water such that it minimizes motions caused by environmental forces. The hull section and the truss space frame are constructed separately and assembled together at the offshore site where the structure is used for drilling and/or production. | 2009-06-25 |
