20140221782 | PREDICTION OF EXACERBATIONS FOR COPD PATIENTS - The invention provides a method for estimating if a patient suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is approaching an exacerbation. Data with connected data indicative of levels of blood oxygen saturation obtained from the patient and their respective time of measurements are received, and a processor executes an algorithm involving: 1) calculating a statistical measure, e.g. a regression, of the level of blood oxygen saturation data taking into account available data within a time window with a limited length back in time, e.g. 30 days back in time, and 2) estimating if the patient is approaching an exacerbation by comparing a value obtained from said statistical measure to a reference value. Finally, an output indicative of a result of said estimation is generated. The method can ensure that COPD patients, e.g. in tele homecare, are properly treated before suffering from a severe exacerbation that could necessitate hospitalization. The COPD patient can easily measure blood oxygen saturation with an oxygen meter, and the algorithm can be executed on a mobile phone, a PC, on a server in contact with the patient via the interne, or on a dedicated oxygen meter device. | 08-07-2014 |
20150018635 | MULTIFACTORIAL TELEHEALTH CARE PREGNANCY AND BIRTH MONITORING - A system for monitoring a fetus in a pregnant woman, and/or the maternal health risk for pregnancies complicated by such as pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders is configured to be worn by the pregnant woman, preferably so as to allow monitoring during daily life, e.g. in the form of an adhesive patch. The unit has a sound sensor, e.g. a microphone or accelerometer, to be positioned on the skin of the abdominal area so as to detect a vascular sound from umbilical arteries of the fetus or from the uterine arteries of the pregnant woman. The sound sensor is functionally connected to a processing unit which executes a processing algorithm on the captured vascular sound and extracts a signal parameter accordingly. The processing unit then communicates the signal parameter, e.g. using an audio signal, a visual display or by means of a wired or a wireless data signal. | 01-15-2015 |

20140192252 | Array camera - Disclosed is an array camera. The array camera includes an array camera comprising an image sensor sectioned into at least two channels and at least two lens modules each positioned on a top of one of the channels. Each channel consists of an active sensor area and a dead space. Each lens module has a barrel. Each barrel of the lens modules has an inner sidewall facing the adjacent lens modules and an outer sidewall opposite to the inner surface. Wherein, a projection of the inner sidewall of each barrel along the optical axis is an inner line on the corresponding channel of the image sensor and the inner line is substantially superposed with a part of the outline of the active sensor. The array camera has a small size. | 07-10-2014 |
20140375866 | Integrated Lens Stack - Disclosed is an integrated lens stack manufactured by dicing a wafer. The integrated lens stack includes an image sensor, at least one lens modules located on the image sensor. Each of the lens modules has a top lens, a bottom lens, and a middle lens between the top lens and the bottom lens, the bottom lens including a first active area and a second active area opposite to the second active area for collecting light, respectively. A chamber is formed between the middle lens and the bottom lens and is a closed room. An area of the first active area is sufficiently smaller than an area of the second active area. | 12-25-2014 |

20140037819 | FOOD PRODUCTS INCLUDING ARTIFICIAL EYES AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MAKING FOOD PRODUCTS INCLUDING ARTIFICIAL EYES - Food products including artificial eyes or eye voids interspersed throughout the product are provided by forming a visco-elastic mass of the food product and combining pieces of solidified carbon dioxide with the visco-elastic mass. The solidified carbon dioxide sublimes throughout the visco-elastic mass and forms carbon dioxide gas. The carbon dioxide gas expands and forms eye voids nearly instantaneously and the fully formed eye voids are provided in the food product in a matter of hours. In addition, gaseous carbon dioxide stored under pressure, such as through encapsulation or in a pressurized vessel, is combined with a visco-elastic mass and the released carbon dioxide gas expands and forms eye voids defined within the visco-elastic mass. | 02-06-2014 |
20140106054 | BROWN BUTTER AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION THEREOF - A system and method for the continuous production of brown butter involves concentrating butter while retaining solids non-fat in the butter, and continuously transferring and heating the concentrated butter to cause the solids non-fat in the butter to react in a maillard reaction to form a brown butter product. The system may use one or more of a heating vessel, an evaporator and a reaction vessel to form the brown butter in the continuous process. A brown butter product derived from butter includes reacted solids non-fat particulates from a maillard reaction suspended by nascent fat crystals nucleated about the reacted solids non-fat particulates and by large fat crystal structures joined to the nascent fat crystals. | 04-17-2014 |
20150064332 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CONCENTRATED CREAM - Concentrated creams are produced from starting cream compositions characterized as homogenous, oil-in-water emulsions containing fat globules, phospholipid membrane components and non-fat solids, and which have an initial fat content between about 35 to about 55 percent by weight. To produce the concentrated creams, moisture is removed from the starting cream compositions through evaporative processing, and as a result, the concentrated cream remains in a homogenous state, retains the fat globules, phospholipid membrane components and non-fat solids, and includes a concentrated fat content of at least about 70 percent by weight. In addition, the concentrated cream may be in an oil-in-water or a bi-continuous emulsion. Evaporative processing may be through a wiped film evaporator or a scraped surface heat exchanger. | 03-05-2015 |
