20160069180 | COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL IN DIRECTIONAL DRILLING SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD UTILIZING MULTI-BIT DATA SYMBOL TRANSMISSION - A system includes a transmitter for use in conjunction with a horizontal directional drilling system that transmits a multi-bit symbol stream that characterizes sensor symbols for receipt by an aboveground portable device. The portable device receives the symbol stream for aboveground recovery of the sensor signals. The transmitter can precisely place the symbol frequencies at least to avoid a noise environment, as well as to avoid powerline harmonics, and can utilize wave shaping for transmitted symbols at least to provide for transmission power control, spectral content control and wideband antenna matching. The receiver can measure the noise environment to identify the symbol frequencies used by the transmitter. The noise can be scanned at an incremental resolution across a wide frequency bandwidth for display or automatic symbol frequency selection. | 03-10-2016 |

20110307941 | Method and apparatus to implement secured, layered logout from a computer system - A secure, layered logout of a user session is implemented in a web-based management tool, such as a middleware appliance. A logout strategy is provided to include a set of security levels of varying sensitivity, with each security level having a set of permissions associated therewith and that are enforced upon a timeout. Preferably, each succeeding security level in the set of security levels is reached as time increases from an idle time associated with the user session. Upon expiration of a timeout associated with a security level, the set of permissions associated with the security level are then enforced against at least one managed object while the user session continues. As each next security level is reached, the set of permissions associated with the security level are then enforced (with respect to the managed object or against one or more other managed objects), once again while the user session continues. Each of the objects preferably is managed independently of at least one other object; thus, the layered logout may enforce different permissions with respect to different managed objects while at the time maintaining the user session. If the user takes no action, eventually a timeout associated with a final security level of the set of security levels will occur, at which point the user session is finally terminated. | 12-15-2011 |

20100154723 | ULTRA LOW NOx WATER HEATER | 06-24-2010 |
20100281899 | GAS-FIRED HEAT PUMP WATER HEATER - A heat activated (preferably natural gas, propane, solar or waste heat fired) absorption heat pump water heater and heat exchange system. The heat driven absorption heat pump system extracts low grade heat from the ambient air and produces high grade heat suitable for heating water for domestic, climate control or process purposes in a storage tank. Flue gases exiting the absorption heat pump system are further cooled by the heated water to enable high (condensing) combustion efficiencies. The heat activated heat pump water heating system achieves efficiencies of 150% or greater. | 11-11-2010 |
20110277706 | GAS-FIRED HEATING DEVICE HAVING A THERMOPILE - A gas-fired heating device having a burner, a pilot to provide a pilot flame, a thermopile thermally coupled to the pilot flame and configured to generate a power in response to the pilot flame, an electrically controlled gas valve to control the flow of gas to at least one of the pilot and the burner, and a controller electrically coupled to the thermopile and the gas valve. The controller receives and is powered by the power from the thermopile. The controller initiates closing of the gas valve after a monitored component of the power, such as a voltage, traverses a threshold. | 11-17-2011 |
