20100158805 | QUANTUM DOT LABELED STEM CELLS FOR USE IN CARDIAC REPAIR - The present invention provides methods and compositions relating to the labeling of target cells with quantum dots (QDs). Specifically, a delivery system is disclosed based on the use of negatively charged QDs for delivery of a tracking fluorescent signal into the cytosol of target cells via a passive endocytosis-mediated delivery process. In a specific embodiment of the invention the target cell is a stem cell, preferably a mesenchymal stem cell (MSC). Such labeled MSCs provide a means for tracking the distribution and fate of MSCs that have been administered to a subject to promote cardiac repair. The invention is based on the discovery that MSCs can be tracked in vitro for up to at least 6 weeks. Additionally, QDs delivered in vivo can be tracked for up to at least 8 weeks, thereby permitting for the first time, the complete 3-D reconstruction of the locations of all MSCs following administration into a host. | 06-24-2010 |

20140222760 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RECONCILING REMOTE DATA - A method, system and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for determining whether an unordered collection of overlapping substrings (called shingles) can be uniquely decoded into a consistent string. The method, system and medium are applicable to the fields of networking, data management, cryptography, genetic engineering and linguistics. Disclosed herein is a theoretic framework, an automata theoretic approach, and a time-optimal streaming algorithm for determining whether a string of characters over an alphabet can be uniquely decoded from its two (or more) character shingles. The present algorithm achieves an overall time complexity and space complexity. The method and system can be used to efficiently reconcile two data objects, files, strings or portions thereof. | 08-07-2014 |

20080301949 | Pruning saw - A pruning saw comprising a handle, a retractable blade pivotably connected to the handle, and a safety latch is disclosed. The handle includes first and second ends, top and bottom surfaces and a longitudinal recess beginning at the first end and extending along the bottom surface toward the second end, while the retractable blade is pivotably connected to the handle at the first end. The blade is capable of pivoting between an open and extended position substantially aligned with the handle and a closed and retracted position concealed within the longitudinal recess of the handle. Accordingly, the safety latch retains the blade in at least one of either the open and extended position and the closed and retracted position. Actuation of the safety latch releases the blade to move freely between the open and closed positions, the safety latch being responsive to at least two buttons positioned on the handle. | 12-11-2008 |

20110056968 | SIPPY CUP ASSEMBLY - A sippy cup assembly including a valve insert having a sheath and a stabilizing core is disclosed. The sippy cup assembly generally includes a container, a lid releasably coupled to and enclosing the container, and an annular seal for preventing liquid from leaking out of the container. The valve insert maintains form while permitting repeated removal and insertion, in addition to washing and long-term use, by providing that the stabilizing core has a rigidity greater than that of the sheath formed over the stabilizing core. The valve insert may be installed in the lid to correspond with a spout and air exchange aperture to permit egress of liquid and ingress of air upon application of suction by a user. When no suction is applied to the spout, the valve insert prevents leakage of liquid from the container. | 03-10-2011 |
20110192867 | Dispensing System for Dispensing a Product from a Handheld Container - An overcap for a container includes a body having a sidewall. An opening is provided in the sidewall. An actuation mechanism includes an actuator with an elongate button and a manifold. The elongate button extends through the opening in the sidewall. The actuation mechanism is actuable to open a valve of a container by movement of the elongate button in a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the overcap. | 08-11-2011 |
20140263105 | CLEAN WATER MOPPING SYSTEM - A filter bucket and a mop bucket movable relative to the filter bucket between a use position and a drain position. When the mop bucket is in the drain position, the water in the mop bucket drains into the filter bucket. A fluid flow path is provided between the filter bucket and the mop bucket and a filter is located in the fluid flow path such that water flows through the fluid flow path and the filter when the mop bucket is moved from the drain position to the use position. | 09-18-2014 |

20100277725 | UNIVERSAL MULTIDETECTION SYSTEM FOR MICROPLATES - An apparatus and a method for optically analyzing a sample are provided. The apparatus includes a first optical device that transmits a narrow waveband of light and has a first filter and a first monochromator that provide different paths for the narrow waveband of the light. The apparatus may also include a light source that generates the light as broadband excitation light, in which case the first optical device transmits a narrow waveband of the broadband excitation light through the first filter or the first monochromator. Further, the apparatus may include a second optical device that directs the narrow waveband of the broadband excitation light onto the sample and receives emission light from the sample, a third optical device that transmits a narrow waveband of the emission light, and a detector that converts the narrow waveband of the emission light into an electrical signal. | 11-04-2010 |
20120300194 | UNIVERSAL MULTIDETECTION SYSTEM FOR MICROPLATES - An apparatus for optically analyzing a sample may include an imaging subsystem that images the sample, one or more analyzing subsystems that analyze the sample, a temperature control subsystem that controls a temperature of the atmosphere within the apparatus, a gas control subsystem that controls a composition of the atmosphere within the apparatus, and a control module that controls the various subsystems of the apparatus. | 11-29-2012 |

20120215690 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING PAYMENT VIA MOBILE NETWORKS - A method and apparatus for facilitating payments for transactions, via mobile devices and mobile telecommunications networks, is disclosed. In an embodiment, a product provider is provided with a code, such as a QRcode, which contains or references payment details for purchase of the product. A mobile user of the application scans the code and is connected to their internet banking application. The payment details are transferred to the internet banking application and the mobile user confirms that the transaction should proceed. Payment is made without any secure details being provided to the product provider. | 08-23-2012 |

20140337228 | System and Method for Facilitating On-Line Payment - The present invention relates to a system and method for facilitating on-line payment particularly for goods or services purchased via a merchant site on the Internet. The system enables payment from an existing customer account at a financial institution, but does not require the user to provide credit card details. The payment is implemented in real-time from the customer account to a merchant account via a financial institution application such as an Internet banking website. An interface is provided which is initiated via the merchant site and which then interfaces the customer computer to the financial application having access to the customer computer's account. The customer can then enter payment details directly with the financial institution to pay the merchant directly for the transaction. | 11-13-2014 |

20140032399 | ELECTRONIC TRANSACTION SYSTEM - An electronic transaction system interacts directly with the purchaser's bank accounts to effect funds transfers from a purchaser's bank account to a vendor's bank account. The transaction system is enabled when the purchaser selects this payment option on the vendor's website. The system receives an identification of the vendor, and the amount to be transferred, and proceeds to prompt the purchaser for the purchaser's bank access information. With this information, the system accesses the purchaser's bank account(s) and displays the accounts that are eligible for the contemplated transaction. When the purchaser selects the appropriate account, an electronic transfer request is generated to effect the transfer from the purchaser's selected account to the vendor's bank account. The provider of the transaction system does not maintain financial accounts for either the purchaser or the vendor, and thus the overhead required to operate this transaction system is minimal. | 01-30-2014 |
