20090005134 | SLIDER GROUNDING TO MITIGATE UNWANTED COUPLING AND LOSSY ANTENNA RESONANCE - A method, apparatus, and electronic device with mitigated lossy antenna resonance are disclosed. A transceiver chassis may connect to a wireless network. A slider chassis may move relative to the transceiver chassis between an open position and a closed position. A first temporary grounding connection between the slider chassis and the transceiver chassis may connect in a closed position. A second temporary grounding connection between the slider chassis and the transceiver chassis of the slider phone may connect in the open position. | 01-01-2009 |
20090085696 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RF SIGNAL TRANSMISSION IN A SLIDER PHONE - A method and apparatus for internal RF signal transmission between the fixed base portion and the sliding portion of a mobile communication terminal using capacitive coupling are disclosed. The method and apparatus provide internal RF signal transmission when the sliding portion is open (SO) and when the sliding portion is closed (SC). The method for internal RF signal transmission in a mobile communication terminal includes a first capacitor plate for forming a first capacitor when the two parts are at a first position relative to each other and for forming a second capacitor when the two parts are at a second position relative to each other. | 04-02-2009 |
20130217342 | ANTENNA ELEMENT AS CAPACITIVE PROXIMITY/TOUCH SENSOR FOR ADAPTIVE ANTENNA PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT - A method and communications device for providing antenna tuning to compensate for antenna de-tuning caused by a presence of an object detected using an antenna element within a capacitive touch and proximity sensor (CTPS). The CTPS propagates object detection signals associated with a detected object to a detection IC. An object detection and antenna tuning (ODAT) logic uses object detection signal information to generate tuning control signals to trigger compensatory antenna tuning, based on pre-established mappings of object detection signal data and antenna tuning states. The tuning control signals indicate at least one of (a) a level of compensatory antenna impedance tuning and (b) an amount of compensatory antenna length adjustment. In response to generating the tuning control signals, the ODAT logic triggers the propagation of the tuning control signals to the antenna matching and control circuit to provide the corresponding antenna tuning. | 08-22-2013 |

20140141731 | ANTENNA ARRANGEMENT FOR 3G/4G SVLTE AND MIMO TO ENABLE THIN NARROW BOARDERED DISPLAY PHONES - A method and system provides a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna arrangement in a wireless communication device. A first antenna element and a second antenna element co-located within a same antenna volume are respectively coupled to first and second antenna feeds proximate to a base perimeter segment of a device chassis. The first antenna feed is at a pre-calculated distance from the second antenna feed. The second antenna element, a first MIMO antenna, is coupled to an antenna ground positioned proximate to the first antenna feed and at a pre-determined distance from the second antenna feed. A third antenna element operating as a second MIMO antenna is placed proximate to a top perimeter segment of the device chassis. The antenna arrangement achieves (a) low correlation between the MIMO antennas and (b) an acceptable or pre-determined level of antenna isolation between the first antenna element and the second antenna element. | 05-22-2014 |

20150218465 | UPGRADING OF HYDROCARBONS BY HYDROTHERMAL PROCESS - A hydrocarbon feedstock upgrading method is provided. The method includes supplying the hydrocarbon feedstock, water and a pre-heated hydrogen donating composition to a hydrothermal reactor where the mixed stream is maintained at a temperature and pressure greater than the critical temperatures and pressure of water in the absence of catalyst for a residence time sufficient to convert the mixed stream into a modified stream. The hydrogen donating composition is pre-heated and maintained at a temperature of greater than about 50° C. for a period of at least about 10 minutes. The modified stream includes upgraded hydrocarbons relative to the hydrocarbon feedstock. The modified stream is then separated into a gas stream and a liquid stream and the liquid stream is separated into a water stream and an upgraded hydrocarbon product stream. | 08-06-2015 |
