20150046419 | METHOD OF SORTING SEARCH RESULTS BY RECOMMENDATION ENGINE - A method of sorting search results by recommendation engine is provided herein. The method starts off with receiving a search query from a user associated with a specific user ID. The method goes on to applying the search query to a search engine and to a content database, to yield search results. The method then goes on to retrieving a profile of the specific user from a preferences and history database, based on the user ID. Then the method proceeds to reordering the search results by a recommendation engine, based on the retrieved profile. Finally, the method concludes with providing the user with the reordered search results such that the order matches the profile of the user. | 02-12-2015 |
20150046479 | COLLABORATIVE FILTERING RECOMMENDATIONS USING IMPLICIT USER ACTIONS - A method of collaborative filtering recommendations using implicit user actions is provided herein. The method includes the following steps: collecting user preference of content items from the crowd; generating for each real content item, a shadow content item; updating preference for the shadow items based on the user preference of corresponding real content items; feeding a collaborative recommendation engine a list of content items and their corresponding preferences, wherein the list comprises both real and shadow content items; and filtering out the shadow content items from an output of the recommendation engine, to yield a list of recommended real content items. | 02-12-2015 |

20150174425 | SELECTED LIGHT WAVELENGTHS AND DELIVERY DEVICES FOR THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF DRY EYE SYNDROME - Provided are methods and systems for treating or preventing dry eye syndrome in a subject. The methods involve applying light of a set of photomodulating parameters to the region of the eyelid. The light of these particular photomodulating parameters will increase the production of collagen, elastin or both thereby improving the tone of the eyelid. Improved eyelid tone will increase the level of meibum secreted through the meibomian duct thereby treating or preventing dry eye syndrome. Particular apparatuses are provided that emit and locate light of the necessary photomodulating parameters tailored for delivery to the eyelid areas activating fibroblasts specifically in this area and thereby improving eyelid tone and meibomian gland function. | 06-25-2015 |

20110146585 | Exercise weight for horses and other users - An exercise weight primarily for horses, to increase the horse's energy expenditure level during exercise. A slurry of polymerized plastic material is mixed with powdered metal, e.g. lead, producing a paste which is extruded in thin sheets, dried and cut to size. A selected number of such sheets are parallel stacked within a cover and can slide over each other to an extent limited by stitches or other fasteners holding the layers to the cover. The Young's Modulus of Elasticity (YME) of the resultant exercise weight is extremely low (typically less than about 2.5). The exercise weight can have various forms, such as the shape of a saddle to lie on the horse's body. When the horse gallops and its anatomical shape dynamically changes, the low YME permits the exercise weight on the horse to deform to adapt to the shape changes in the horse without generating large resistive forces or counterforces pushing against the horse. Avoiding these counterforces helps reduce injuries to the horse and allows better conditioning. The device weight can be increased by adding additional thin layers, up to but not substantially exceeding a critical number of layers, without substantially increasing the device's YME. The device can also be used for racing dogs, and other creatures, including humans. | 06-23-2011 |
