20150051875 | COMPUTER PROCESS FOR DETERMINING BEST-FITTING MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTING ARCHITECTURAL SURFACES - A computer process for fitting construction materials to an architectural surface modeled in CAD divides the surface into domains, and defines sample points on each domain surface. Low accuracy then high accuracy iterations match a domain to a surface portion of a regular curved solid. The low accuracy match limits the type and orientation of the curved solid. The high accuracy match derives a central reference for the curved solid by defining vector pairs from among the sample points and calculating multiple resultants as cross products of vector pairs that share a common origin. Reference points are located wherever the distance between any two resultants is minimum, and the central reference, e.g. an axis, is derived from the reference points using regression analysis. The match to the domain may be iteratively improved by adjusting a parameter such as a radius until a desired accuracy is achieved. The result is compared to stored specifications to identify construction materials capable of forming the domain. Parallel processing may be employed to reduce time for solving fitting problems for large architectural projects having multiple surfaces with complex curvatures. | 02-19-2015 |

The calibration surface includes thereon a calibration pattern, the calibration pattern comprising a plurality of alternately coloured elements which provide a corresponding plurality of corners at locations on the calibration pattern at which more than two of the coloured elements adjoin. The corner locations define a first group of lines and a second group of lines, the lines in each of the group of lines are parallel with respect to each other and with respect to the calibration surface. The first group of lines is orthogonal to the second group of lines and the camera is operable to generate and communicate to the image processor a video signal representative of a scene as viewed by the camera, the scene including the calibration surface. The image processor is operable to detect from the video signal at least some of the corner locations and thereby identify the first and second group of lines of the calibration pattern, to extrapolate the lines from each group of lines to determine a presence and a location of a first intersection point on a plane of the scene as viewed by the camera at which the extrapolated lines from the first group intersect and a second intersection point on the plane of scene as viewed by the camera at which the extrapolated lines from the second group intersect, and to estimate from the presence and the location of the first and second intersection points one or more of an estimated roll angle value, an estimated pitch angle value and an estimated yaw angle value corresponding to a roll angle, pitch angle and yaw angle of the camera relative to the calibration surface. The detection of the corner locations by the image processor comprises identifying from the video signal a plurality of potential corner locations, defining an area of the scene as viewed by the camera centred around each potential corner location, analysing a colour of points lying on a periphery of each area, thereby estimating a likelihood that a corner is located at each potential corner location. | 06-03-2010 |

20150319206 | SHARING A MEDIA STATION - Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for sharing a media station. A user can share a media station with one or more other users. The sharing user can transmit a share request to share the media station with receiving users. A share link configured to provide access to the shared media station can then be sent to each receiving user. In some embodiments, the shared media station can be tailored or customized for the receiving user. For example, the shared media station can be tailored based on user preference data for the receiving user. To customize the shared media station, a new version of the shared media station can be generated based on one or more media station seeds that define the media station, as well as the user preference data. The newly generated version of the media station can then be provided to the receiving user. | 11-05-2015 |
20150350145 | SHARING OF ACTIVITY METADATA VIA MESSAGING SYSTEMS - Systems and methods are provided for sharing activity information of devices engaged in a messaging session. In operation, the devices provide activity and sharing preference information to a data service. Thereafter, the data service generates notifications for the devices based on the activity, sharing preference, and device information, wherein the notifications include a payload with instructions for messaging clients at the devices to present user interface elements that allow users to access content and applications associated with other users in the messaging session. | 12-03-2015 |
